It’s #favoritebookfriday again and I’m so looking forward to Christmas! Fourteen days away! I’m so excited to be announcing where I’m donating the money from the merch shop! I’m getting ahead myself here. Calm down Terryn. That milkshake was a bad idea. I’m gonna go over four sections of this book today so you may have to check out the website for the rest.

So we’re looking at a different dangerous prayer. This one is “send me” It comes from Isaiah 6:8 NLT “Then I heard the Lord asking l,” Who shall I send as a messenger to this people?” I said “Here I am. Send me.” It’s an honor to serve God. It’s definitely okay to ask God for things but that’s not stopping there. We should make ourselves available to the call when it happens. It’s dangerous to pray but it’s a reminder you belong to God,

When we think of a call, we think of the phone but a call is a invitation from God to serve. It’s complete surrender. We live to makes excuses why we can’t go. God doesn’t ever call perfect people. He called the people no one would have chosen. God hasn’t changed about choosing people today. He’s chosen you and doesn’t change his mind. Sometimes our response is flat out no God I’m not going and sometimes it’s make excuses. God does the equipping, you do the going. It’s a dangerous prayer to pray but here I am. Send me.

If you’re on Instagram, I’m ending it here! Check out the website for more! I love you guys so much!

Like this all seems crazy right? But once you really get to know God and his character, you’ll like this prayer. When Isaiah prayer, he was seeking out the Lord. You won’t feel alone because you realize God is with you. He always has and always will be. Isaiah saw the Lord in all his glory. When was the last time you were overwhelmed at his presence? He’s too good not to share. Become aware again. Look at his character again. It’s not just God. He’s your God. He’s my God. You won’t be the same again. Rethink your time with God. He wants to reveal himself to you. Sometimes you may not feel it, it may just be by faith. He’s with you.

Here’s out last section for today. Encounters with God are more than a warm fuzzy. Encountering God helps you deal with sin. None of us are good so we need a savior. We see how good God is, we see how we are not. Isaiah recognized it when he saw God’s glory. Isaiah 6:5 translations from Hebrew to “I’m undone.” That’s how we realize we need Jesus. This prayer is dangerous but it makes you more aware of God. It changes everything. Comparison makes us think we’re not as bad as “those people”. But God’s grace stepped in. He washed your sin away. You can live in total freedom. Your sin is forgiven and forgotten. Let it sink in. Let it soothe your soul. Grace changes everything. We don’t bring anything. Jesus brings everything. Now this prayer doesn’t seem that dangerous but more inviting. This prayer isn’t obligation or guilt It’s you making yourself available. Your God’s and you represent him on this earth. Surrender helps us see God is moving. Be ready to go.

Chapter Highlights (3.1-3.4)

  1. Rather than asking God to serve us, what if we told God we are available to serve him.

  2. What if instead of asking God to just do something for us, we prayed a dangerous, self denying prayer of availability to our Heavenly Father?

  3. Not only did God call people who did really bad things but he also called unusual, insecure and inconsistent people

  4. If you’re going to as God to use you then a genuine encounter with him goes a long way in trusting him

  5. You will experience him when you seek him, watch for him and cry out to him. Or may be a simple aware that he never leaves you and will never forsake you.

  6. To truly get up a point of submission and availability to God and be truly aware of his presence we are wise to recognize and understand our sinfulness.

  7. Until we see ourselves at sinners, we’ll never fully understand Jesus as the savior.

  8. When you experience the presence of God, you become more aware of sin. This awareness leads you to an understanding of God’s amazing grace.

  9. When you cry out to God for forgiveness, he doesn’t remember your sin. They are gone. Forgiven. Washed away. And forgotten.

  10. The same God who has forgiven you has also called and chosen you. Every single day he had appointments planned for you. People to bless. Things to give and opportunities to serve.
