It’s Friday again and I’m off busy going a school event and some other things. Car insurance is expensive okay? Anyway you don’t want hear about my adulting. On this #favoritebookfriday, we’re going to finish Classic Christianity tonight.

So this final chapter is called “growing in grace”. Bob takes us back to the story at the beginning where he says “God take me back to where I first met you.” Now he understands why God didn’t answer his prayer. He’s grown and learned so much that he doesn’t want to go back there. We’re we’re make for going back to the desert. We’re gonna burn ourselves out stressing about sin that we forget Jesus calls us to an abundant life. We don’t have to be satisfied here, we can keep growing in Jesus. There’s also room to rest too because Jesus did all the work. It doesn’t mean we become inactive however. We are called to grow in grace. This life of faith isn’t easy however, it requires daily decisions to take God at his word. Let God take the initiative here. Taking on his yoke also means you’re a good listener. His burden is hard but it won’t burn you out. Jesus living in you is the only thing that will truly fulfill the deepest part of your soul. God wants to use you for good works. God means what he said when he said you’re totally forgiven. We wanna spend more time with Jesus because we know the fullness of his love and acceptance. We don’t have to worry about tomorrow because God is ahead of you and will see you there. You can pray and leave the results to God. It makes reconciliation easier. The love of Christ is what motivates you. There isn’t life in the flesh and you won’t be happy being with the worms if you’re a butterfly. There’s also a difference between discipline or punishment. They are not the same thing. Punishment is the consequence for doing wrong. It always looks back at the offense to administer justice. However discipline is the training that develops into self control, character and diligence. It’s personal and continuous and for your success. God no longer deals with us through the basis of punishment. He’s a loving father committed to helping you grow. We can trust God in live total acceptance. Whatever you go through, God who is faithful to finish a good work will complete it.

That’s the last chapter of the book but check out Classic Christianity’s conclusion called “whatever happened to the real thing? On the website.

So this section has a question “what all you do today?” We can’t go back only forward. Romans 8:28 says all work together for the good for those who love him. It doesn’t say things seem good or feel good but they are good. Compassion makes us better servants. He uses our bad experiences and turns them into good. You experience a changed life because of an exchanger life. We can remember the truth of God’s word and that he loved and accepts us. He gives us a new mindset and new pre-occupation. Truth really does set you free. So whatever happened to the real thing? Nothing. There’s nothing new about this message of grace. The problems is we stray away from the truth of the message into legalism. Stay humble and receive the peace of God today. He’s waiting so open the door of your heart and discover Classic Christianity is a person- the living Lord Jesus Christ

Chapter Highlights (Chapter 12-WHTTRT)

  1. The answer does not lie in going back , the answer is in going forward.

  2. When we as Christians are not willing to enter the sabbath we are called to-resting totally in the truth of God’s conditional love and grace in Jesus Christ-we’re acting like the Israelites. We are Christians and we can’t go back and become lost again, anymore than a butterfly becoming a worm again.

  3. I’m other words, God wants us to grasp by faith in the fact that Jesus Christ has done it all and there is nothing left for us to perform to be acceptable to God. In other words “God has done the work; now you rest.”

  4. We are called to grow in grace.

  5. God doesn’t need your ability. He is the able one. He needs your availability

  6. We don’t become burned out because we are mot acting contrary to our real identities and we don’t produce this life on our own, Christ himself is producing His life in and through us.

  7. Therefore, with the motivation of the love of Christ, the decision of present myself to him for his use and the knowledge from the word of what God’s will is in this specific situation, i merely do by faith what the Bible says and leave the results to him

  8. If your understanding of the gospel goes no farther than the forgiveness of sin, your feel like you have the license to sin. But when you understand Christ not only died for the forgiveness of your sins, but also rose again to come live in you, absolutely not.

  9. The sharp difference in both in discipline and punishment is the attitude and goal of doing its. Punishment is anger and indignation and it’s goal is juice. The attitude behind discipline is love and it’s goal is benefit and development of the person.

  10. God doesn’t promise us a exemption from tribulation but he does promise us he will go through it with us

  11. The renewing of our minds is looking at ourselves and our circumstances from God’s perspective rather than our own.

  12. The way to break a habit or preoccupation is to develop a new habit or preoccupation. The new will push out the old as the light dispels darkness and truth dispels errors.

  13. The unmistakable sign Classic Christianity is taking hold in a person’s heart is when you see the beginnings of the same attitude that Christ had:”I am not here to be served but to serve”

  14. He’s waiting so open the door of your heart and discover Classic Christianity is a person- the living Lord Jesus Christ
