It is #favoritebookfriday and I’m not in the right headspace right now to start a new book this week, however I’m going to leave you this week with a resource I want you to read this week. I was introduced to this book by the church I attend a few months ago and I want to share it. It is “The Color of Compromise” by Jemar Tisby. If you’re not a big reader than I suggest watching the study guide on Amazon Prime TV if you have it.

January 6,2021 is one that shook America to her feet. I am not surprised and it is not a surprise to God. As a black woman, I am afraid for this nation and Christianity as a whole. That’s not Jesus, well not the Jesus that I serve. I wanna talk more on the subject Monday after I’ve collected my thoughts. I want to use the platform I have been given for good and not evil. There is one thing that irks me. I’ve seen so many leaders saying “pray for America” which we should but what about “let’s confess the sin of racism so we can be healed? I’ll stop my tangent for right now

The Color of Compromise takes you through a journey from the early American church’s complicity in racism to where we are now. The final chapter is titled “The fierce urgency of now” and Tisby gives some steps of things you can do to act. Awareness, commitment and relationship are key. He lists a bunch more things but I want you to pick up this book and read it for yourself. Take in every word and then take steps to act. Your faith with out works is dead. We can no longer compromise with the sin of racism. It must fester no longer. Take the steps and act now. This journey many not be comfortable but take this walk with Jesus. He’s the example so follow him. We must stop with the hypocrisy and get on our knees to confess our sin.

“So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Blog Post Monday may also be a video… I have a lot to say.
