I took a mental health day last week so we’re back with Dangerous Prayers by Craig Groeschel.

We’re picking up with this dangerous prayer of “uncover my sins” David prays this in Psalm 139. He asks God to show him anything that offends or hurts God’s heart. Well how do we find out what hurts God heart? One could be what are other people telling you about yourself. Well hope they have your best interest in mind. Next consideration what you’re rationalizing. You have a bad habit or something that you keep doing because it seems rational. We think it’s okay if we’re not hurting anymore or it’s for coping but does it hurt God’s heart. This prayer requires us to look at our innerselves. If we’re not careful we end up like the people David described In Psalm 36. In fact he was guilty of it as well. Take some time to actually listen listen for God’s help. So pray this dangerous prayer. “Show me God if I’m wrong, show me if I need to change? It may be uncomfortable but it’s worth it.

The final part of this prayer is “lead me” we want more than just the first three parts of the prayer: search my heart, reveal my fears, search my heart. We want to me lead in the way everlasting. This isn’t a prayer to be taken lightly. It’s soul cleansing, heart mending and eternity altering. When you put this verse together it’s a powerful but dangerous prayer. The problem is we but people’s opinions before God’s. That’s the quickest way to forget what God’s thinks about you! And he only sees perfection and love! See what God shows you it’s with this prayer. God wants to hear you pray, pray for you and help you pray. He uses it all for good. Ask him to help

in any area. His love for you is unconditional. Ask for courage to pray this dangerous prayer. Step out in faith. Are you ready?

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:23-24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
