I’m writing this because I feel like I should. My birthday is next Friday, May 14. For me, my birthday has painful, traumatic memories ever since I was a few days shy of fourteen. Every year since, those memories come back. This year in particular is different. I’ll be nineteen. The last year of being in the teens. What does it all mean? I don’t really know. I’m finishing up my freshman year and have made so many new memories and beautiful friendships. I’ve changed a lot since my last birthday. I’ve been deconstructing almost a year now and I’ve feel so open and free. I’m learning new things about myself every day and I couldn’t be happier. I see God has more Loving and forgiving. I don’t feel bound by the need to strive. I feel at peace. I’m taking the next steps to do what I love and I’m happy where I am. Your birthday is a new day Terryn Abner. You’re different than you were. You’re beautiful, smart, wide and lead with a quiet beauty. I can’t wait to see what you do next with your life. Do t give up just yet. God’s called you to do much more and he is faithful to complete it. We’re gonna redeem your birthday.
