Do you feel like you’re unraveling?
The answer to this question is definitely yes. I do but we’re going through this together. I feel like I am coming apart at the seams and I’m unraveling emotionally and physically. The past year feels like tv static. (Campus ministries came up with that one, love you guys). College can be exhausting as well as everything else in this wild wild world. I’ve been so wrapped up in taking care of other people that I’m nit caring for myself. Part of the song “Unraveling” by Cory Asbury said “Ii don’t wanna be alone anymore, I don’t wanna just survive anymore, I wanna feel unraveling.” Sometimes the pressure is staggering and you feel numb. Sometimes I feel like I’m there.
Do you remember you have a God who loves you? He just wants to be with you. He’s not concerned about you cleaning yourself up. Look at Mary and Martha. Jesus wasn’t going to stop Mary from spending time with him and taking him at his words.
This verse came to mind when I was in the shower is Psalm 61:2
“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Psalms 61:2 NKJV
I feel overwhelmed, lead me to the rock higher than myself, God. Let’s look at this verse in the Amplified. I can’t climb the mountain without God’s help.
“From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and weak; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help].”
Psalms 61:2 AMP
I was laying on a picnic blanket last night weeping on the grass. I looked up at the stars and said “The God who made these stars has infinite love for me.” The static isn’t so loud anymore. I feel like being more vulnerable in my story helps you guys reading my story. There’s will a meditative prayer in my story and I hope it helps you find peace in the static. God’s got today. There’s enough peace for today.
