One less Monday away from Christmas on this #blogpostmonday. For real the shop is getting Christmas designs so I’ll make a announcement on my story. I’m donating those proceeds to a charity I’ll discuss next week! I came up with something but I forgot maybe it will come back. I remember now.

This second Sunday of advent is the second purple candle: peace. What is peace? Peace is a person and his name is Jesus. We have no definition of peace without him. His promise to disciples before he would go to the cross was:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Jesus can promise you peace because he is peace. He’s the Prince of peace. The one, the promised messiah. He’s here. The one the prophets for told his here. The wait is over. He is here.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”

These are his names. He is the embodiment of peace. There is no end to his peace. His kingdom isn’t a matter of eating or drinking but righteous peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. He’s here, with you and reigns forever more
