So it’s Monday again and one week of college is the best. My college is like a second home and I have the best friends in campus ministries! We’re a tiny family and I’m so excited to step up and lead. I’m doing some more things that I can’t talk about yet. However what I wanted to talk about today is I finally did my red hairstyle. It’s been part of my deconstruction journey. I also brought a midriff top that has rainbows on it. I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with it but where I grew up, people had a huge problem with it. My clothes or body don’t define me. Toxic purity culture doesn’t define me. I am loved by my Creator. He created me and said I was very good. It’s taken me a long time to get into this healthy headspace again. Even the past week, I had some very interesting and thought provoking conversations. I love being on the planning team. I also got reading glasses for when I wear contacts because glasses fog with a mask is too much. I ramble a lot but college is amazing and I love you guys so much. It’s been a liberating journey. It’s been an entire year since I took a trip to one of my favorite places on a beautiful mountain in Tennessee with my youth group. There’s something amazing when you just enjoy nature with no cell service. I can remember God telling me my college was the one and my call to ministry. I think of it being a place of rest and the gospel of Mark says this
“Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.”
Mark 6:31 NLT
So stay right here and rest awhile. God is Jehovah Rophe. He still in the healing business. He’s healing and holding your broken heart. He’s putting it back together. There’s a brighter day ahead. I know deconstruction is a journey but I’m here with you. See ya next time on this #blogpostmonday. I didn’t talk about what I was supposed to at all today but we will talk about love on Wednesday!
