Blog Post Monday

With coming to Monday yet again I literally don’t have plans for today. I have #wonderwednesday (I ending up with a different topic)and have to work #favoritebookfriday but nothing for today. Literally I’m not sure what I wanna talk about.

I ranged from talking about anxiety to “going to the well” but I decided to go take a look at Hebrews. The intro to our theme verse is this

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:19-22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I wasn’t planning on these verses but the writer of Hebrews has something to tell us. We can be confident to talk to God by the blood of Jesus. God sees you as nothing but righteous. Now we have a new way of connecting to God. Jesus’s body was broken and the veil was torn from the top to the bottom. No more separation between us and God. Jesus is now our high priest and in a another place in the book, the writer says “Jesus sat down” why? His work was done. He defeated death, hell and the grave. He said “Tellesti!” or “it is finished.” Now we can go to God and tell him what we need to with all of our hearts. We can rest assured God hears us. We don’t have to have a guilty conscience anymore before God.

Now the theme verse. We’ve got to hold on to the faith we have so we can endure. God promised and He is faithful. Now we have to keep encouraging one another and love one one another and continue serving one another in love and in deeds. We can’t stop meeting with each other. And there’s so many ways to do it despite a global pandemic going on. Be save and responsible. Keep Zooming (I guess it’s verb now). Some of you will be in the habit of not meeting together. We can’t do this Christian journey on our own. We need Jesus but also each other. This a community effort. Keep meeting even more because you don’t know when that last day it.

My youth pastor says “if we aren’t being pushed by other Christians we will be pushed by the weight of the world.” And it’s true. The world wants to absorb you in and push you around. Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep going.
