I did do something really cool this weekend and I’ll share when I’m able. I’ve been just thinking about a story I’ve never shared to anyone.

I almost left the church. I really thought about it when I was 16(I think?). I’m a PK (preachers kid) and my uncles are pastors. I’m not gonna get too personal but I was tired of the hypocrisy of that church and if I couldn’t go to church where I wanted to, I wasn’t at all. I was going to be agnostic I think. These thoughts came to me almost three years into my call to ministry. I almost walked away for it all. These were the starting steps on deconstruction. My whole school career in conservative Christian schools had lead to a lot of undoing. I have restored my faith since those days but many of you are at this same state and that’s okay. I’m just as frustrated as you are with the church friend but now I feel ya and stand here with you. This past year has been a year of deconstruction and reconstructing. I call it “the great undoing”. I have such an amazing and supportive church family now and the sermon this morning was about restoring what you thought you lost. Today was about how God restores your confidence. God’s in the restoring business. And he does it again and again and again. I’m not sure what this Monday brings but I hope it’s good for you and you feel a little less alone.

“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:20-21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I’m gonna leave you with that verse. You, yes you are equipped to do Gods will through Jesus. The God of peace is with you. His name is Jehovah Shalom.
