Blog Post Monday November 30,2020

It’s Monday again and I’m so excited to have put my Christmas decorations. #blogpostmomday I’m a firm believer in waiting until after thanksgiving to do stuff. I’m also so excited to be in the works for training for a virtual student ministry job. Anyway I’m like so excited to see what’s ahead. I’m excited to see what God has in store and what he’s doing in our lives.
Yesterday started the first Sunday of #advent. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s the reminder of Christ coming. It’s celebrated the 40 days leading up until Christmas Day. There are four candles in a wreath shape. Three are purple, one is pink and the one in the center is white: the Christ candle.
O come, O come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appears. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
The first purple candle of hope which we lit yesterday. There’s hope in the coming messiah. The king of heaven was born in a stable just for you and me. You were worth it. There’s so much hope to be found in that.
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.”
Isaiah 9:2 ESV
The people in darkness but they can receive the light of the world. He is Emmanuel: God with us. He’s here and still available to you. He loves you.
